Green Bits

This is an example of the dashboard I created to allow customers to start fixing their own issues.

My Role

I was a member of the compliance engineering team at Green Bits, a POS for cannabis businesses. The core purpose of the compliance product is to report transactions that happen within a store, to the state traceability system in order to comply with laws and regulations.

This is an example of the email I created that alerted customers when they had regulatory issues that needed their attention.

What I'm Super Proud Of

The tricky thing about maintaining such a system in the cannabis industry is that all levels of the industry are very immature. This immaturity leads to things not working as well as expected, which lead to a huge problem at Green Bits - to the tune of nearly 1 million sales that should have been reported to the state, not being reported. I took on the challenge of chipping away at that mountain of technical debt, and by the time I was done the mountain was virtually eliminated, the product was working better than it ever had, and customer satisfaction was improving.
